Duties: Process applications for all VIU programs: provide information to applicants on admission requirements, assess transcripts for admission and transfer credit, respond to applicants in writing, compile documentation for departmental review and manage waitlists. Provide registration services and monitor class lists to ensure students are registered. Monitor conditional acceptances. Meet with Department Chairs to review admissions procedures and provide annual summary. Work cooperatively as a part of the Registration Centre team. Accurately calculate fees. Other duties include reception, writing letters, data entry, switchboard and mail.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma and completion of an Applied Business Technology program from an appropriately accredited institution or one year of post-secondary education, or equivalent. Three to five years of recent relevant experience. Intermediate-level word processing and data entry skills. Intermediate-level typing speed of 45 wpm. Experience using Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet. Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work within deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a post-secondary setting. Experience with SRS and VIU Student Ledger system. Knowledge of VIU programs and registration procedures.
