Location: Cowichan Campus
 
Duties: Instruct Math 011-016 in the Academic and Career Preparation program at the Cowichan Campus. Provide individual and group instruction; prepare course materials; provide student support and tutorial support; complete student evaluation, grading and record keeping; liaise with student support services; participate as an active member of the instructional team; participate in staff meetings. Follow the articulated outcomes as listed in the current provincial ABE Articulation Handbook.

 
  Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning, and student success through ongoing professional training, subject currency, and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and department committees; meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
 
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution; proven skill and experience teaching adults; recent experience teaching relevant subjects and levels; experience and sensitivity in working with disadvantaged adult learners; ability to use a wide range of teaching strategies to accommodate the needs of different learners; skills in development of course materials; skill in providing individualized instruction in a group setting; demonstrated interpersonal skills working with students; demonstrated interpersonal skills working with instructors, student support services, staff and administration as a team member; organizational skills. Familiarity with relevant computer applications with an emphasis on word processing.
 
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant Master's Degree. Teacher Training certification.
