Provide information and service to the public, students, faculty, and staff in the Parksville/Qualicum Centre. Provide registration and support services for Continuing Education, Adult Basic Education, Elder College, and university courses. Register students using SRS and process payments using the Student Ledger System. Receive and process payments and refund requests, manage petty cash and cash floats, prepare invoices, and reconcile all payments. Provide information to the public on Continuing Education courses and certificate programs. Assist with preparation and distribution of the Continuing Education calendar and prepare student supply lists for distribution. Prepare timetables for ABE and complete data entry in SAWS. Oversee placement testing and invigilate exams. Distribute textbooks for courses and manage bookstore supplies. General office duties include: switchboard, mail, ordering office supplies, photocopying, overseeing opening/closing of classrooms, and classroom rentals. Other duties as required in support of library, tutoring program, and salon. Direct students to advising, financial aid, or other student support services.|
One-year certificate in Applied Business Technology program from an accredited institution or one year of post-secondary education, or equivalent. Three to five years of recent relevant experience. Intermediate level word processing and data entry skills. Keyboarding speed of 45 wpm. Experience using MS Office. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to work as a member of a team.|
Experience with SRS or similar database system. Experience in accounting and Student Ledger System. Knowledge of VIU programs.|
