Reconcile cash; balance and record daily sales, prepare bank deposits; maintain cash floats; reconcile month-end transactions and create monthly invoices. Train, assign, check and maintain workflow for cashier/sales associates, which also includes casual cashiers during peak periods. Accounts receivable duties include maintaining organized sponsored student records and the coordination with internal and external contacts to create invoices. Maintain department charge records and be the direct contact for internal departments. Balance transactions from the textbook buyback program, assist in preparing textbooks for shipping and create textbook buyback invoices. Maintain an organized locker rental program; organize and maintain the regalia rental program.|
High School diploma plus additional courses that may include accounting, computer skills, business math, and customer service. One to three years recent related retail sales and service experience, including cashier experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated ability to handle large volumes of cash, including reconciling daily sales produced from a computerized POS system. Experience compiling bank deposits. Fast and accurate cashier skills using a computerized POS system. Entry-level computer skills including experience working with spreadsheets. Proven accurate data entry skills.
Demonstrated superior front-line service and sales skills. Knowledge of the book industry. Proven effective customer service skills. Ability to handle mufti-tasks in a high-volume service oriented retail sales environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Proven ability to work independently.
Bookstore experience. Supervisory experience or training. The ability to switch quickly between tasks and prioritize.|
