Supervise University gymnasium, student and work-study students. Maintain facility operation of the gymnasium complex and maintain all instructional and recreational equipment. Assist in the implementation of student activities. Schedule University athletic vans. Provide clerical support including: typing, reception, file maintenance, photocopying and handling of money. Provide primary first aid for gymnasium and backup for the University. Implement University fire and safety evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency. Coordinate and provide community student housing list. Position requires frequent exposure to many adverse and undesirable conditions. Adherence to safety procedures and precautions required. Participate as an active member of the student activities team.|
Diploma in Physical Education, Recreation or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution. Three to five years recent directly related experience. Demonstrated knowledge of sports and fitness equipment, its care, use and repair. Ability to interact effectively with students, staff and community members. Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and problem solve. Clerical skills including entry level word processing proficiency. 40 wpm typing speed.|
Valid OFA Level 2 Certificate required (or obtain as per CUPE Letter of Agreement #3).
Degree in Recreation or relevant discipline from an appropriately accredited institution.|
