5 hours per week, Fridays, 10 am to 3 pm
Additional hours, if required, to be submitted on timesheets
Daily cashiering, sales, book buy back, customer service, product display and merchandising. Encourage sales through retail selling techniques and by providing product information and personalized service. Assist customers by locating and providing book and product information. Create and maintain attractive products displays. Merchandise product in trade books and general merchandise areas of the store. Develop and maintain excellent product knowledge. Cash duties including processing a variety of departmental and student accounts, maintain files, count and maintain floats, and data entry. Open and/or close store as required.|
High school diploma plus additional courses in sales, customer service, and /or merchandising and display. One to three years recent related retail experience, including selling, product displays and merchandising, and cashiering. Demonstrated superior front-line service and sales skills. Fast and accurate cashier skills using a computerized POS system and Business Math skills. Intermediate-level word processing proficiency. Proficient computer skills including spreadsheets. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, service oriented retail sales environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. This position requires some physical labour including standing for five to seven hours and the ability to move boxes or carts.|
Knowledge of the book industry.|
