Duties: Coordinate Field Experience for the Faculty of Education, with placements of 300+ education students. Teach a course within the master's program in Educational Leadership.
  Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
Required Qualifications: Earned (or almost complete) doctorate in relevant area from an appropriately accredited institution; experience in a leadership and supervisory capacity in a school system; demonstrated organizational, team building, and management skills; an understanding of the Vancouver Island University Teacher Education Programs and the BC K-12 system; excellent interpersonal skills, specifically in communications, conflict resolution, and problem-solving; ability to work collaboratively with partners (i.e., school district personnel); demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently within a team context; and eligibility for British Columbia Teaching Certificate or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Established networks with Vancouver Island School Districts.
