Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
A doctorate in a relevant area from an appropriately accredited institution. Special Education and/or Educational Psychology background. Level C test user qualifications and extensive experience with Level B test administration. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Willingness and ability to function in a team setting; responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles. Commitment to the development of students as teachers. Eligibility for British Columbia Teaching Certificate or equivalent.|
Familiarity with the Vancouver Island University Teacher Education Program.
Experience as a school psychologist.
