  The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program follows the "Collaboration for Academic Education in Nursing" (CAEN) curriculum, a multi-partner university and college initiative. The curriculum is concept-based and promotes the integration of concepts across several health contexts including health promotion, acute and chronic health challenges, community nursing, and mental health areas.
Duties: Prepare and facilitate student integration of theory and practice; assess and evaluate student progress in practice courses. Vancouver Island University places an emphasis on teaching excellence and also encourages scholarly activity and community involvement.

Successful candidates will be responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles.

This position may require travel to a variety of practice settings on Vancouver Island.
  Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in a related field from an appropriately accredited institution. Demonstrated proficiency in post-secondary teaching with the ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Current three to five years practice experience with adult and older adult populations in different contexts of care. Demonstrated ability to work with a dynamic and creative program team. Proficiency with the application and integration of information technology to teaching. Current practicing membership in good standing with the CRNBC.
Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record (as specified in Vancouver Island University policy and procedures).

Preferred Qualifications: Relevant PhD (completed, or in progress).
