Reporting to the Executive Director, Student Affairs, ensure safe, effective and efficient operations of the Recreation facility with regards to scheduling, maintenance, staffing and rentals.
Manage departmental budgets and authorize department purchases and expenditures ensuring that all Institutional policies and procedures are adhered to. Manage policies, procedures and processes that support the objectives of the department and University Academic Plan. Work closely with the Athletic Director.
Oversee employees and contractors to ensure a comprehensive offering of Intramural and Fitness and Lifestyle programs and services are offered on the Nanaimo campus.
Master's degree in a related field from an appropriately accredited institution. Three to five years demonstrated success and leadership in a sport facility. Three to five years of progressive managerial experience, including budget experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Demonstrated technology competencies of privacy protection, software related to budget tasks (e.g., MS Excel), and communication of information through appropriate media.
Master's degree in Sport and Recreation Management or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution. Experience in a unionized, public sector environment. Experience in a post-secondary setting.|
