With a teaching philosophy that involves applied and experiential learning, develop and prepare lessons, instruct, assess and grade student achievement in Recreation/Tourism courses at the undergraduate level. Assist students individually through scheduled office hours. Supervise graduate students in the Master of Arts in Sustainable Leisure Management Program. |
The Department has recently established a major in recreation management and a minor in special events. We are seeking individuals who can assist in further developing these and who have experience teaching across topic areas such as: volunteer management, event planning, project management, well being, human resource management, organizational leadership, risk management, and experiential tourism.
We are seeking an individual interested in growing with the department and potentially assuming a shared leadership role in the future.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.|
A Doctoral degree from an appropriately accredited institution; recent relevant teaching and research experience. ABD will be considered in combination with extensive practical experience. The incumbent will have excellent communication skills, with a strong interest and background working in a cross cultural and learning centered environment.|
Experience in undergraduate and graduate level teaching and/or supervision, experiential education, community engagement, the scholarship of teaching and learning and applied research. Track record of involving students in research or scholarly activity.|
