My five main work interests in the Department of English are Canadian Literature, Shakespeare, Film, Narrative, and Composition. (I also teach in the Department of Creative Writing and Journalism.) Having taught at several universities and colleges, I think VIU is unusual in giving students and faculty the sense of aliveness that comes from moving into new spaces of understanding and discovering connections that cross territorial borders.
