Education: 1990s

In February 1997 Malaspina University-College received approval to independently offer a Bachelor of Education degree program.  The approval, received after a rigorous examination by the BCCT, creates the first independent teacher education program in BC outside the three major BC universities.  The degree is unique because it allows students to complete a BA and BEd during the five and a half years of the program.
