Duties: Reporting to the Director, International Marketing, Recruitment and Business Development, oversee the day-to-day activities of the Canadian-based international recruiters and communication needs in International Marketing and Recruitment. Provide guidance to the Coordinators, International Recruitment Services, and supervise the International Travel Coordinators as well as oversee the student interns:
  • Coordinate the recruitment activities of the Canadian-based recruiters.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate International communication activities including: online advertising ; monitoring and updating Intl Social Media platforms.
  • Hire, train and manage the International Travel Coordinator as well as the inquiry response intern team.
  • Supervise the inquiry response team to ensure consistent messaging on behalf of VIU. Involves emails, telephone, social media enquiries, face to face, etc.
  • Oversee and monitor International Education's social media channels, including collection of analytics and development of strategy.
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of promotional materials.
  • Liaise with the International Associate Registrar to develop and maintain an optimum enrolment management process.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities for students/agents that are not covered by Recruiters or by VIU International Offices.
  • Manage the hosting of visiting international delegations (students, parents, partners, government officials, etc.)
  • Maintain and enhance the International CRM (Salesforce) for the purpose of recruiting students.
  • Manage the maintenance and direction of the International Education webpages.
  • Assist the Director of International Marketing, Recruitment and Business Development in setting annual goals, plans and budgets.
  • Position may require overseas travel for marketing initiatives.
     
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related field from an appropriately accredited institution. Minimum five years' work experience in international marketing, recruitment and communications. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience in the development and production of marketing products on a variety of platforms (e.g. Print, web, social media). Experience and knowledge in website development and content management (i.e. Drupal). Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Demonstrated technology competencies to create various marketing campaigns and maintain excellent communication with prospective students.
 
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in a relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution. Fluency in a second language. Experience with a CRM, ideally Salesforce. Management experience of unionized staff. VIU graduate.
