Duties: Deliver MDRT 001 Medical Device Reprocessing Technician: Theory, which will be delivered in blended format online and in-class.

Prepare and deliver classes; design and grade student assignments and assessments, facilitate students' integration of theory and practice; coordinate clinical placement, supervise and evaluate student progress.

Collaboration and ongoing communication with Medical Device Reprocessing Department Managers and staff at VIU is critical. Assist with the overall arrangements for course delivery.

Maintain and be responsible for own instructor manual/materials.
Guide students in preparation for certificate exam and how to access related information. Investigate, review and recommend other learning tools to enrich student learning experience.
 
  Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning, and student success. Successful candidates will participate in activities outside the classroom including student support and department committees.
 
Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Nursing from an appropriately accredited institution. Significant practice experience in OR and Central Supply is required, or a combination of relevant experience. OR CMDRT (Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification is required.
 
Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications: Instructor Diploma Program, Bachelor Degree in Education or equivalent. Recent experience as a Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician and instructor in a recognized MDR program. BSN qualification is preferred for the theory course.
