  Disability Access Services is a busy, growing department that each year provides academic accommodations and other services to over 900 students with a wide range of disabilities. The department currently invigilates over 1600 accommodated exams per year. Flexibility and creativity are key to ensuring student needs are appropriately met.
  • Provide administrative support to diverse areas within Student Affairs including Financial Aid and Awards, Disability Services, and Assessments and Exam Invigilation.

  • In a first contact capacity, respond to queries regarding Student Affairs demonstrating a sound understanding of Student Affairs overall services and directing students or staff, (often in sensitive situations), to the appropriate area.

  • Prioritize area workload requests, complete tasks independently while actively maintaining communication with supervisor and co-workers.

  • Disability Services
  • Assist with the scheduling of and assistance to captionists/notetakers, exam invigilators and ASL interpreters. Work with these hires to problem-solve issues related to technology and student interactions as they arise.

  • Provide front counter assistance for students registering with Disability Services.

  • Assessment and Exam Invigilation Services
  • Respond to queries and provide pertinent information to faculty, staff and students regarding testing procedures.

  • Invigilate exams as required, monitoring for exam security. Troubleshoot basic computer issues where required.

  • Financial Aid and Awards
  • Assist students in completing grant funding forms

  • Assist FA office with data entry for grant, loan and waiver programs

    Required Qualifications: One-year certificate in Applied Business Technology, or equivalent, from an appropriately accredited institution; minimum three years recent, relevant administrative experience demonstrating career progression. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Demonstrated excellent oral and written English communication skills. Demonstrative ability to show patience and empathy with clientele with varying levels of needs.

    Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
    Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with current assistive technologies.
