Duties: Successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering seminars for ECEC 231 (Practicum V). Additional responsibilities include grading student assignments, and facilitating student integration of theory and practice. Successful candidate will also participate in program and faculty meetings, liaise with support staff, other staff and faculty.

Successful candidates will be responsive to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles.

This position will require travel to a variety of practice settings on Vancouver Island.
 
  Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
 
Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care or related field from an appropriately accredited institution. Five years recent practical experience working with children and their families. Demonstrated proficiency in post-secondary teaching with the ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Knowledge and experiences in applying theory in practice in a manner that is consistent with the content in the course description. Concrete evidence of being a collaborative and effective team player. Demonstrated ability to work with a dynamic and creative program team. Proficiency with the application and integration of information technology to teaching.
 
Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record.
