Duties: Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Academic, the Research Assistant supports the work of the Research Analysts, the Program Quality Analyst, and Program Development Analyst in the Office of University Planning and Analysis. This is an entry-level position for qualified individuals wanting to advance to a Research Analyst position. Many of the duties are research-oriented and require critical thinking, analysis of information and statistical reports, and professional/business communication skills.

The duties related to program quality include: supporting the Program Review Oversight Committee (PROC), which is a sub-committee of Planning and Priorities; maintaining the Program Review Handbook; assisting with the preparation, administration, and processing of in-class student surveys; and scheduling and coordinating external reviewer site visits for program review as well as the preparation of information packages for the site visits.

Duties involved in support of the Program Planning function encompass collecting trend and comparative data from other institutions and undertaking environmental scanning on assigned topics. The Research Assistant is also responsible for data editing, and verification related to the preparation of mid and fiscal year end FTE reports and Central Data Warehouse submissions. In this capacity, an annual audit of program FTE divisors and course calendar matrices would be conducted by the Research Assistant, along with the ongoing review of Curriculum Committee submissions. This position is responsible for identifying errors or inconsistencies and resolving data anomalies, as well as reviewing and editing OUPA materials for internal and external circulation, and maintaining Tableau workbooks.

Day to day general administrative support for the department would be required including the ordering of supplies, scheduling meetings, preparing expense claims, maintenance of the office webpages, creating user accounts for the self-serve survey options, and compiling monthly leave reports.

 
Required Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in Arts, Social Sciences, Business, or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution. Minimum three years' experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under the pressure of constant high demands and deadlines. Effectively managing multiple, complex and detailed tasks. Superior written communication skills, grammar, spelling, and proofreading. Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail. Proven ability to meet deadlines, establish priorities and maintain flexibility with competing demands.
