Alison Keple

After completing an MA in Zoology at UBC in 2002 and a post-degree teaching certificate at UVic in 2003, Keple went on to become a high school science teacher at Cowichan Secondary, where she is now head of the science department. During her MA degree she studied the ecology of marine mammals in the Strait of Georgia and has become a recognized expert in the field. As well as teaching, she continues to do research on marine mammals and give lectures and workshops on her findings. She's also on the organizing committee for the inaugural Ryder Hesjedal's Tour de Victoria -- a mass-participation cycling event that is part of the Victoria Cycling Festival.
