Double Up Matching Funds

Thanks to the generous support of Thrifty Foods, VIU's faculty, staff and students in the Culinary Institute of Vancouver Island and the Professional Baking and Pastry Department are able to double the bang for their fundraising bucks through a one-of-a-kind fundraising initiative known as the Double Up Program. The way it works is Thrifty Foods matches the money made at fundraising events organized by VIU's faculty, staff or students that support the Culinary Institute of Vancouver Island and the Professional Baking and Pastry Department. The program has been running since 2009 and since then has helped support a variety of initiatives at the university including scholarships, awards and bursaries and the new Aboriginal Gathering Place on the Nanaimo campus. Here's a full report on the fundraising initiatives that were supported by last year's program. If you'd like to apply for the program please download the application form and submit it by email, mail or in person to Kamala Haughton at the address listed below. If you have any questions, please phone 250.740.6215 or email Kamala Haughton, Advancement & Alumni Relations Coordinator.

Please note that there are changes to this year's Thrifty Foods Double Up program. Only the fundraising initiatives that directly support the Culinary Institute of Vancouver Island and the Professional Baking and Pastry Department will be approved.
