Duties: Inspired by Nature is a prestigious grant winning program developed and co-taught by two teachers at The High School at Vancouver Island University. Inspired by Nature is an integrated program that combines Art Foundations 11/12 and Environmental Science 11. The course meets 2x per week (Monday 1:40-3, Wednesdays 1:40-5) with one class as the background and preparation block and the longer block generally used for field based studies.
  Due to an upcoming leave by one of the teachers THS is looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working educator with a passion for the environment and a deep understanding of the science involved.
  Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning, and student success. Successful candidates will participate in activities outside the classroom including student support and department committees.

Required Qualifications: Current BC College of Teachers certification.
Current criminal record check as required by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch.
A minimum of 3 years of classroom experience teaching high school science courses is expected.
