Location: Nanaimo Campus
Duties: Provide support to the Associate Registrar, Records and Registration Systems and the Records department within the Registration Centre by documenting business practices, assisting with training, creating customized reports from the student record system, and troubleshooting issues related to all registration systems.
  • Create, maintain, review documentation of business processes within the Registration Centre
  • Create and run customized reports from the student record system
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues related to registration systems
  • Coordinate access to authorized users of the student record system
  • Create distribution lists for emails to students
  • Run standardized reports according to assigned schedules
  • Assist with training on all registration systems to users across all campuses
  • Document rationale and priorities for future system improvements and process streamlining
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution. 3-5 years related experience working with systems and processes. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience with a student record system or similar large relational database.
Strong MS Office skills. Understanding of post-secondary admissions and registration procedures. Public speaking training or experience. Demonstrated experience or formal training in technical writing.
Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate education that included components of computing science or information systems. Experience with MS Access. Familiarity with and experience using VIU's Student Record System, or a similar system. Knowledge of VIU's admissions and registration procedures.
