Duties: Review and process purchase requisitions submitted by University staff for goods and/or services, and issue purchase orders ensuring compliance to University policies and applicable trade agreements. Facilitate non-complex competitive processes that includes preparing and issuing bid documents (e.g. Requests for Quote, Request for Tender, Request for Proposal), evaluation, financial analysis, through to recommendation and contract award. Act as account coordinator for purchasing card system, asset disposal, and other Purchasing led programs or functions. Respond to internal and external questions or requests for information pertaining to supply related issues, purchasing card, etc. Manage purchase orders, expedite the delivery of goods and services, and generate reports and follow-up on outstanding items. Participate in the review and development of processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma plus one year post-secondary program, or equivalent, coursework in Business including coursework in Supply Chain; three years recent relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of public purchasing. Strong level of proficiency with MS Office (Word and Excel). Understanding of supply chain principles. Experience with providing excellent customer service. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to deal with a wide range of people with tact, diplomacy, and patience. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to handle pressure and set priorities. Ability to switch between detailed tasks quickly.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of courses and/or seminars through the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada.
