Student Survey Management Committee (SSMC)

The Student Survey Management Committee provides oversight and coordination of student surveys conducted at VIU for institutional purposes (this does not include course or faculty evaluation surveys). SSMC is responsible for reviewing and approving an annual survey schedule, the design and content of all VIU surveys, and requests for new or one-time student surveys.

The core committee is comprised of the:

    • Associate Vice-President of Academic Planning

    • Director of University Planning and Analysis

    • Manager of University Planning and Analysis

    • Research Analyst from University Planning and Analysis

    • Director of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning

    • Executive Director of Student Affairs

    • Executive Director of the VIU Student Union

    • Research Ethics Advisor from the Scholarship, Research, and Creative Activity Office
