In July 1986, Malaspina College hosted a World Conference for Youth, where 205 young delegates from 112 countries participated in the week-long event aimed at discussing positive ways to approach the challenges of the future. Guest speakers, such as Alvin Toffler, delivered inspiring keynote speeches and workshops. While the conference was controversial due to the tough economic times, it had a strong and positive impact on the community.
